Customer questions and answers for DMMW400GBGT04 ,recommending for waffle with ice cream maker.

Are you supposed to let the latch close and lock shut? I thought it said not to allow it and I accidentally did and had to force it open mid-cook.
  • Do not use the latch during cooking. As expansion happens during cooking it can break it.
  • I have not had any issues with latch, I put in the mix and wait 2 mins than close lid. No problems so far. Wife makes keto waffles and closes lid right away.

Why the front legs are shorter? when I use a bit more liquidly batter I have to put something under in the front to make everything even.

  • I never noticed a problem with ours. Sounds like your waffle make is missing something.

What latch are some of your speaking of? I literally just got this yesterday and it has no latch.

  • Mine has a latch that keeps it closed, even when stored vertically.

How much batter do you put in each slot for the dash mini multi waffle maker.

  • Despite numerous recipes recommending a certain measured amount. I find it difficult to adhere to those specific amounts.
  • Often time too much better and your get overflow. Instead, for pourable batter, I will put in just enough to cover the top of the waffle grids on the bottom plate.
  • Most batters will rise with cooking, so keep that in mind. This is more of an art than a science. After you have made a few, you will get the hang it very quickly.

Does this make 4 waffles the same size as the mini dash or are they smaller than the single version?

  • They are the same size as the mini one.

Does this make old fashioned waffles (thin and crispy) or Belgian style (thick and bread)? I am looking for old fashioned.

  • Because it latches shut, it makes more of an old fashioned thinner waffle with ice cream. They are yummy!

What is the watts?

  • I looked it up in their site and it says 1200 watt. I asked that same question and someone said it gets plugged into a 110 outlet, but that did not answer the watt question.

WOW!!! Amazing waffle iron especially if you are making Keto Chaffles and want to make several for the week. Cooks super fast and the over flow chambers cook up nice little crunchy snacks too. Definitely recommend this one!!

  2. Brian B

This works great and saves us sooooo much time vs making our keto bread one at a time!!! Just wish the heat plates popped out for easy cleaning.

I wanted to get a mini waffle maker as they’re all the rage in the keto community. Many show the mini dash, and while it’s adorable and works great, I wanted the option of making chaffles and other treats in larger batches. This works awesome, and I love that it has the built-in channels so that if you add too much mix it doesn’t make a mess.Like any waffle maker, I really wish that it had the option to remove the plates for easier cleaning, but it isn’t too bad.

This waffle iron is great, and I love being able to make multiple chaffles (for Keto) at once! It seems to be heating up quickly, cooking evenly, and cooking quickly. My only tiny complaint is that the lid does not latch in place, so you really can’t store this vertically. It’s not a huge deal, however. The waffle size is exactly the same as the Dash mini. I would definitely recommend this multi unit (I’ll probably keep the mini, as well, for travel).See my pics for a comparison in size with the Dash mini and the Nostalgia mini. In the pic, the first one on the left is the Nostalgia, the second one is the Dash mini, and the third is the Dash multi. I didn’t care for the Nostalgia, btw. See my reviews for the other two units for more info regarding the comparison.

Made one batch of waffles today and made 10 mini waffles. I used Trader Joe’s ube mochi waffle mix. The waffles browned surprisingly even (see photos)! I plugged it in and waited a full 10 mins to preheat, even though the green light turned on after about 5 minutes. I wanted to make sure it was hot enough. I added 3 TBLS of batter per waffle. Closed the lid and let it cook for 4-5 mins. First 4 waffles I cooked for 4 mins, then transferred to a wire rack for just 1 minute to let the steam escape (this help crisp up waffles) before serving. At 4 mins the waffles were firm, but didn’t have the crisp exterior. After removing the waffles, I closed the lid (empty) and let it reheat back up and opened the lid after the green light turned back on before adding more batter. The next 4 waffles I cooked for 5 mins, then cooling rack for 1 min and the result had the crisp exterior I was looking for. I did NOT grease the waffle iron. It didn’t need it. I even cooked an egg mixed with cheese and it did not stick. To clean, I just wipe it while it’s still hot with a damp paper towel to wipe off all crumbs.Storing: pictures show and other people talk about a latch that helps to store vertically but is an annoyance when you’re cooking as it latches while cooking when it’s not supposed to. Well, mine did NOT come with a latch, which is a pro and a con. Thankfully, I don’t have to deal with a latch constantly locking everytime I close the lid while cooking, but now I didn’t have a way to store vertically since the lid drops open. So I had to make a perfectly-sized open-ended box to slip over the handle. This enabled me to store it upright. After my first experience today, I rate it 5 stars. I will change my review if the waffle iron doesnt perform well over time.

Love this waffle maker. I bought it to make chaffles. It’s so much better than my mini single waffle maker! It needed very little wiping down and nothing stuck and I only used a spray oil on my first batch, then I realized it didn’t need any at all! Love it!

If you are like how I was a few weeks ago, you’ve read every waffle iron review trying to figure out which one is the “right” one for your needs. I scrounged all of them and they all had a few negative reviews that really made me go “euugghhh”. After combing through them though, I realized that Dash had overwhelmingly the best reviews and decided to get this one.All in all, this is a fantastic waffle iron, albeit “simple”. It doesn’t have any fancy features like an alarm or timer. You literally plug it in and a red light turns on to tell you that it’s warming up. When it’s “hot”, the light turns green. Again, “simple”. With that being said, “simple” is great because…. well, do you really need a timer or an alarm? Everyone has different likes / dislikes with their food – and this simplicity allows you the ability to figure out what works for you. Personally, I use it to make chaffles (cheese waffles made with cheese / egg) – I make the mixture while the iron warms up. Once the green light hits (typically around 5 minutes into warming up), I do a quick spritz of non-stick cooking spray (we use coconut oil) and pour my mix. Then close the iron and let it go for 5 – 10 minutes. I know it’s done when the steam slows down – once it reaches that point, the waffles are solid enough that I can check on them to see if I want them to go longer or not.All in all, this works great for our needs. The size of the molds for the waffles are perfect to make waffles to use as the “bread” for a sandwich or a burger. Or, you know, for a normal waffle. The only thing I wish it had was removable plates to make clean up easier. All in all, it’s a solid waffle maker that does what it’s supposed to – so no complaints here!

So happy with the Dash Multi Mini Waffle Maker. It heats up quickly, food doesn’t stick (I use a quick spritz of oil), and it wipes off with ease. I received it on Monday in time for dinner and I have used it everyday since. Came home on Tuesday at 4:30pm (having not eaten all day!) and had some egg and cheese chaffles ready in 10 minutes!!! Today is Wednesday and I made coconut flour waffles for breakfast. If you are living a ketogenic or low-carb lifestyle, this is a product you will love.Happy in CO 🙂

Being on a keto diet, I make lots of chaffles. I purchased the dash waffle maker that makes one chaffle. As it only makes one at a time, that was a pain to make more than 1; which you need for more than one person and for makng chaffles for “hamburger buns” and other applications. Purchased this model. Improvement over the smaller dash and better than my regular 4-waffle maker. Makes 4 perfect chaffles and the run-off on the side is nice as it makes an edible “chaffle stick” instead of running down the side of a regular waffle maker. Wipes clean, but I would prefer the burner inserts be removable for even better and easier cleaning.
